Bespoke Training

At Psychology 360, we have experience of delivering a wide range of training packages to schools and educational settings.  All training is underpinned by educational psychology theory, research and practice.

Emotion Coaching

Emotion Coaching is an evidence-based approach aimed at helping children and young people to become more aware of their emotions and more able to manage these feelings effectively.

Emotion Coaching promotes a calm and supportive whole school environment by fostering positive relationships between staff and pupils.

Emotion Coaching provides school staff with the knowledge and skills to approach challenging situations with confidence, whilst being sensitive to the needs of the pupil and the school community.

Through a consistent and supportive response from school staff, pupils’ ability to regulate, improve and take ownership of their behaviour is enhanced.  Emotion Coaching enables pupils to better understand their emotions, and provides them with the tools necessary to self-regulate.

Direct Instruction and Precision Teaching

In every school, there are children and young people who appear to be experiencing difficulties learning and retaining key skills in literacy and numeracy despite intervention.

Direct Instruction and Precision Teaching are practical, evidence-based teaching and monitoring approaches designed to accelerate learning and support the progress of pupils who are struggling to gain prerequisite skills in reading, spelling and numeracy.

Direct Instruction is a highly prescribed and evidence-based approach to teaching underpinned by instructional psychology.  By ensuring that the pupil is an active learner, Direct Instruction enhances motivation and self-esteem whilst maximising learning gains.

Precision Teaching is a highly effective and evidence-based method of planning, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of a teaching programme aimed at the needs of an individual pupil.  A Precision Teaching approach supports school staff in making ongoing adaptations to an intervention programme; ‘fine tuning’ teaching and learning in order to maximise pupil progress.
